That’s part of what my YouTube channel, Earthlings Uncaged, strives to help with when it comes to chickens. There, you can find videos on chicken care, creating bonds and lasting connections with your chickens, deeply understanding your chickens, and building a setup that keeps them safe, happy, and thriving.
I wanted to take that a step further and offer a free checklist to help guide you on your journey toward becoming the best chicken caretaker you can be.

This is the checklist I wish I had had before I got chickens. I left no stone unturned, while keeping it simple enough to hop right into.
Chickens are not simple pets, and those cute chicks at the farm store are complex beings with needs far beyond food, water, and a coop. This checklist is designed to help you think through the big picture before you bring chickens home—from your budget and setup to your flock plan, daily care, supplies, safety, health, enrichment, and everything in between.
My hope is that it helps you feel more prepared, more confident, and more connected to the beautiful responsibility of becoming a Keeper of the Chickens.
