With the days slipping helplessly away like sand through a timekeeper, an overwhelming need to see BB in every way I could took hold of me.

A date set for her final breath and a belly full of as much watermelon and as many carrots as she could eat, I stood there weeping through my camera, trying to capture every detail I had been blind to only days before. Somehow hoping that if I burned every inch of her into my memory, she might stay with me just a little longer.

In a way, it worked.

BB, my love, thank you for letting me truly see you. I can still smell you through these photographs that live far beyond the vision of them.

Rest in peace, Bean Bear.
